We Got Our S.U.D.!

On April 25 the Planning Commission voted unanimously to create a special-use district for CCA's San Francisco campus. This process was required because the zoning in the neighborhood had changed four years ago and no longer permitted our current uses.

The S.U.D. applies to all five of CCA's parcels in San Francisco, including the back lot. The zoning change was a big hurdle that the college had to overcome before any development could take place on the empty lot. Conversations about temporary uses for the lot are just beginning. Stay tuned!

Special shout-out to Director of Campus Planning David Meckel, who worked on this re-zoning project for two years. It's a testament to his abilities that there was absolutely no opposition to the plan. Several Potrero Hill neighbors wrote letters of support and spoke in support of CCA at the hearing.

For those who love fine print, the complete text of the resolution is below. And you can watch the entire proceedings by clicking on this link and scroll down to item 10a.
