Green chairs really are green

Those zippy-looking green chairs in the new SF Campus Center look too cool to be sustainable. What's the story?

Those are Low Pad Lounge Chairs designed by Jasper Morrison. They are upholstered with Steelcut Trio fabric from Maharam Kvadrat. This fabric is certified GREENGUARD for low chemical and particle emissions.

The other furniture in there also has green cred. The white Broom Chairs designed by Phillippe Stark are made with 10 percent glass fiber and 90 percent postconsumer waste material. The walnut butcher-block table tops are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and come from forests that are managed according to the highest social, environmental, and economic standards.

And that's just the tip of the green iceberg in there. Find out more on the posted statement in the lower level. And learn more about the college's commitment to sustainability.
