Doesn't look like much is going on, but . . .

Although the vacant lot looks much like it did when we purchased it in 2011, much has been going on behind the scenes.

We have been very busy working with the city on zoning, land use, and environmental issues -- key steps that must be taken before we can develop the property.

Environmental Monitoring and Cleanup
We have been conducting an environmental cleanup operation to remove traces of diesel fuel from the groundwater. The operation has been going quite well, and we hope the San Francisco Department of Public Health will sign off on the site soon.

We have been working with the City of San Francisco to create a Special Use District (SUD) for CCA's campus. This will allow us to expand the campus in the future.

Read more about the SUD.

When Can We Use the Lot?
We have begun the process of thinking about how we might use the lot in the near future for some temporary uses, such as CCA's Annual Fashion Show and the post-commencement celebration.

Before we move forward with any plans, the zoning and environmental issues need to be resolved and improvements need to be made to the site, such as resurfacing and installing lighting.

In a couple of months, we will have a better idea of when we can start using the lot.
