SRM Development has plans to build a multi-family complex on the south side of 51st and Broadway near the border of the Temescal and Rockridge neighborhoods. Temescal Apartments, a 130-unit proposed project, will include 8,000 square feet of retail space and some sweet amenities, such as a rooftop courtyard, theater, fitness facility, and a bike repair/maintenance shop that would be open to the public.

The L-shaped building would take up the entire portion of Broadway and curve around the corner and up 49th Street, against an existing home. The five-story section overlooking Broadway will terrace down to four stories on 49th Street, while the townhouses on the other side will only be two stories.

Before groundbreaking can happen, the developer must first close the deal on the property and submit building permits to the city of Oakland.
